Order & Delivery Information
All books are offered for sale subject to availability, as we have several outlets for our products. We do not offer books "on approval". All orders are firm orders.
We are happy to take Credit/Debit card payments over the telephone. Just ring us on 01335 330965 with your requirements and we will try and send you your books on the same or next working day.
All items can be paid for immediately through Sagepay or Paypal using a credit card or a debit card. To pay by PayPal, please tick the "Credit Card/Sagepay" button at Checkout, which will activate PayPal. Sagepay and Paypal are very easy to use, secure, completely free and will not incur any additional costs. Your financial information is not shared with us. Once your payment is complete, Sagepay or PayPal will email you a receipt for the transaction. We despatch your item as soon as payment has cleared and will email you with delivery information. Collection in person is also welcome from our address by appointment. You can also collect from our trade stand at any of the events we attend by prior arrangement.

When shipping to the following UK areas or postcodes, parcels over 2kg will carry an extra charge, due to RM and Courier costs. Please contact us for further details before placing an order. We will do our best to send your parcel as economically as we can.

Please note: as from 19/3/18 we do not accept payment by cheque, due to the processing costs and the very limited demand for this method of paying.
Postage and Shipping
Some items posted will require a signature on delivery, as we use Royal Mail signed For Service on some items. Other items may be sent Royal Mail 24 or 48. We also use Courier services such as DPD Local for packages weighing over 2Kgs and these will require a signature on receipt. Postage and Packaging are provided to our customers free of charge. Items are packed with great care. However, in the unlikely event that an item is damaged during transit, please contact us within 2 hours of receiving the item(s). A receipt with full details of your purchase will be included in your parcel, which may be useful for insurance purposes. Any request to mail any items to a third party is entirely at your own risk. It is only acceptable on the condition that Linda Tinker Railway Books are not in any way responsible for any loss or damage caused at any stage or transit and are not in any way to be involved in any investigation into such loss or damage.
We reserve the right to cancel orders at any time.
Books Not Delivered?
Occasionally, books are unable to be delivered, usually because the buyer is out, and no safe place has been designated for the postal worker or courier to leave the parcel. In this case the parcel will be taken back to the appropriate depot and a card left with instructions stating how you can get hold of it. If you do not collect the parcel or make arrangements for delivery, it should be returned to us eventually. In this case, you have a choice. 1) to have the books sent again, in which case we will charge you for postage at cost (both UK and International), or 2) to cancel the transaction, in which case we would refund the cost of the books only. For international customers who have paid a postage charge, this is not refundable.

Please note that as the UK has now left the EU, our parcels to the 27 EU countries are affected. We will continue to send you an invoice for the price of the books, and for shipping them. Our invoice does not include any Customs Duty, VAT, Inspection Charges, or any other charges that a particular country may impose. These are the customer's responsibility to pay.

Postage costs cannot be refunded and the buyer must pay return postage costs. You may return an item within 14 days of receiving your goods; prior notice should be given by email. Provided items are returned in good, undamaged condition in the original packaging, the full purchase price will be refunded. Should returned items be found to be damaged, a percentage of the purchase price will be withheld. No returns will be accepted after a period of 14 days in the buyer’s possession. All items should be returned to the above address.
