These pictures of the SPs glorious rails through mountains, tunnels, deserts, forest and across coastlines from San Francisco to New Orleans celebrate the railroad as it was in its last years of independence. Massive fleets of six-axled locomotives, double-stack containers, Oregon logging trains, long drags and sugar beet trains are all shown. The SP disappeared into the UP a few years later but at least on these pages, the Espee rolls onward. Illustrated throughout with black and white as well as colour photos. End papers show system map. Good Condition. 199pp. 1988, Trans-Anglo Books. DW has shelf wear and minor nicks. DW now protected by removable transparent film cover. MK-92GE-8T2P
