  • Rolling Stock of New England Volume 1: New Haven Railroad Work Equipment (Liljestrand)

New Haven Railroad created in 1872, operated about 450 route miles of track in New York and Connecticut. By 1990, New Haven had absorbed over 25 railroads and was operating over 2,000 route miles of track. The New Haven had a substantial Fleet of work service equipment that was used to help keep its right of way, bridges, catenary, and other property in good condition. Later on when the quality of roads bettered they began to use highway roads for transport. This book takes a look at some of the interesting work service equipment used by the New Haven Railroad over the years. Good B/W photographs with informative captions. 2001 Bob's Photo. Softcover. New.  48pp. NU-N8YR-U0RG
