Sheds are reviewed using accurate line diagrams and black and white photographs - the photographs are of particular interest, illustrating the several locomotive classes which were actually based at particular sheds. Also displayed using diagrams and photographic material, is the difference in engine shed appearance, if it has changed considerably from the original design. Track plan diagrams are used in the engine shed descriptions, some having more than one diagram, producing a comparison if the track work has changed considerably over the years. Two separate sections have been devised, which review engine sheds closed before railway nationalisation (1923 - 1947) and those which survived into the days of British Railways (alphabetically) and then a further Appendix section, overviewing key points of the several sheds (such as coaling stages, water tanks, turntables and staffing numbers). Good Condition. DW has shelf wear and spine slightly sunned. Book in good clean condition. 156 pages. 1979. WL-RXKK-SI0G
