Volume 1 of this fascinating and detailed history of the narrow-gauge Uintah Railway covers the line between the standard-gauge Denver & Rio Grande Western at Mack, Colorado and the division point at Atchee, Colorado. Includes the engine facilities, the machine shop and the little town of Atchee. With a special section covering the steep and winding trackage between Atchee and Baxter Pass where the famed articulated 2-6-6-2T locomotives ruled the tortuous track.
