The goal of this series is to publish and present in text and photographs a record of Southern Pacific dieselization since the fleet’s beginnings in the late 1930s. This volume investigates General Electric’s 1962-1975 contribution to the Southern Pacific roster, There were 334 General Electric 'U-boats' from the U-25B and U50 through U33C locomotives owned by the Southern Pacific and Cotton Belt railroads.
