The railroads covered include the Capetown-Wellington, the Natal, the Cape Government Railways, the Metropolitan & Suburban, the New Cape Central and Kowie, the Nederlandsche Zuid-Afrikan Spoorweg Maatschappij, the Pretoria-Pietersburg, the Selati and Ermelo, the Imperial Military Railways of the Boer War and the Central South African Railways. Illustrated throughout with black and white photos, diagrams and maps. Volume 2 has 135 locomotive photographs and 122 specially prepared drawings. This volume covers all the locomotives introduced in this period, with road and works numbers of engines given throughout, together with technical details, numerous photographs and line drawings.
